It's not really about reach. It's about recognition: the plumber who knows the florist, the customer who turns into a neighbour. Places work better when people know each other, and that's the whole idea.

Eight questions, in your own words
You'll answer one question at a time, and you can record any answer again if you're not happy with it. Nothing is sent until you press Use this answer.
- Find the quietest room you have, close the windows and turn off any fan or extractor. Soft furnishings help: carpet, curtains, a sofa.
- Sit about a foot from your laptop, or hold your phone at chest height.
- Each question gives you an opening line. Start with it, then keep going.
- Don't worry about ums, ahs, coughs, or losing your thread. All of that gets edited out.
- Treat it like leaving an answerphone message for a friend or a customer. That's exactly the right tone.
- Speak in full sentences. There's no interviewer in the finished episode, so each answer needs to stand on its own.
